Our client, a leading wholesale distributor in the motor trade in Northern Scotland, is seeking a motivated Trainee Buyer to join their team. This role offers hands-on experience and the chance to learn about procurement while contributing to a successful, fast-growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Procurement: Support the buying team by sourcing and ordering products, ensuring stock levels meet demand while keeping costs down.
  • Build Supplier Relationships: Work with suppliers to negotiate terms, manage orders, and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, product availability, and pricing changes to help the team make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Learn Purchasing Processes: Understand procurement systems, contract management, and how to evaluate supplier performance.
  • Data Management: Keep accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and stock levels to help operations run smoothly.

About You:

  • Detail-Oriented & Organized: You pay close attention to detail and can handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Eager to Learn: You’re excited about gaining knowledge and developing skills in procurement.
  • Great Communication Skills: You can build positive relationships with team members and suppliers.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using Microsoft Office and willing to learn procurement software.
  • Problem Solver: You can think on your feet and help resolve supply chain issues quickly.
